Art, Memory and Reflection
A group of sculptures, distributed along the length of the Park, endeavor to generate visitors' reflection on the recent past. Twelve of them were selected by the international contest "Parque de la Memoria".

Six hundred and sixty five (665) projects were presented, coming from 44 countries. The broad response to the call shows that art is one of the main tools for reflection and development of the collective memory.

To select the winners, the Jury took in consideration the actuality of the languages as much as the poetic sense of the whole, establishing a series of ethic and aesthetic principles coherent with the Park's purpose of keeping alive the memory towards the future.

Another six sculptures will be carried out by artists invited by the Commission, based on their prestige, their career and their commitment to the defense of human rights.
